Public Mindmap - Qs/issues with using this site

By inkazar (ilyse na'omi kazar) on , September 13, 2011.

Just posted this to the Discussions area, I ***finally*** noticed this
Help Desk after asking all over the World Wide Web :-D "where do I ask
questions?" GOSH.

OK, so I have a lot of questions re optimal use
of this platform. I have put them in a mindmap. Here's my x-post from
the Discussions page:

Hi everyone, So far I have not succeeded at raising up any help
regarding the use of this platform. I have had multiple questions,
thoughts, and wish-list items occur to me as I have prowled around this
site and sites linked to from here.

So I'll be cross-posting this to the Google Group and also the two LinkedIn channels that I'm aware of.

This is a link to a MindMeister map I've made organizing my "Meta-Qs" re how to use this site and navigate the course.

Feel free to edit, or to add a subnode and answer or comment. This is
the mother of all metas, we will be communicating and problem solving
about how to take part in our Creativity/Communications MOOC.

Perhaps this will also help Thursday's live session facilitator(s) by
seeing in advance some of the questions in the mind of someone new to
this platform.

Re: Public Mindmap - Qs/issues with using this site
Hi ilyse,
Thanks again for your questions, suggestions and MindMeister map. I replied to your post earlier in All Discussions, and that's why I created this Help Desk(based on your suggestion).
I have added some Notes on your MindMeister map to response to your questions there. They were great questions and are really helping all of us to see things clearer.
I have been trying to figure out the big picture, too. And this is what I got ( ), feel free to edit it.

Hope you find them helpful.

Re: Public Mindmap - Qs/issues with using this site
Thanks for your notes on my  mindmap, so helpful. And it was led to see that mindmaps (at least on Mindmeister) do not lend themselves well to asynchronous collaboration. I will be submitting to the Mindmeister team a feature request that adds discussions against any object on the map. Right now our only choice is to edit one note & tag our name onto each newly added comment. Comments should each be an object in their own right.

"Always in search of a better collaboration app..."!! :-)
